Blood Tests (Phlebotomy) - by referral and appointment only

If you are requested to have a blood test, there are a number of clinics held during the week run by trained phlebotomists, including an early morning clinic for those needing a fasting blood test.

Blood Pressure - by referral and appointment only

Regular blood pressure clinics are run for simple blood pressure checks. Please ask at reception for further details.

Smear Tests - by appointment only

Smear clinics are offered at various times during the week. Alternatively, you can book an appointment with any of the nurses. Please inform the receptionist of the reason for the appointment.

Family Planning/Contraception - by appointment only

All our doctors and nurses are happy to discuss family planning and contraception in routine surgery appointments. We are able to provide a full range of contraceptive services including coil fittings and implants in designated clinics.

For emergency contraception please request a rapid access or urgent appointment with a doctor (stating the requirement), or speak to the pharmacist. For out of hours, contact the Brook Advisory Service on 0121 643 4822.

Vasectomy - by referral and appointment only

Vasectomies can be performed at the surgery. Should any of our male patients be considering this permanent procedure, they should seek a referral from a doctor.

Antenatal - by referral and appointment only

This service is run by the community midwives on Friday mornings.

Well Baby Clinic

Well baby clinics are held on Monday at the surgery between 1.30 and 3.00pm on a 'walk in' basis, where you and your child will be seen in order of arrival by our health visitors.

Childhood Immunisations

Clinics are held on Wednesdays at the surgery between 1.30 and 3.30pm on a 'walk in' basis, where you and your child will be seen in order of arrival.

Asthma - by appointment only

Patients with asthma are advised to attend for regular annual review to optimise their treatment, or more frequently to monitor the effectiveness of treatment. This is run by Janice Pryce.

Community Health Worker (Counselling) - by referral and appointment only

If you have concerns about learning difficulties, disability or mental health, our community health worker can offer more time to listen and support you with your problems. The community health worker can offer other services that are more beneficial for you, where possible. All information and anything you discuss with the community health worker is kept strictly confidential.

Healthy Heart - by appointment only

This programme is designed to monitor and support patients who have been diagnosed with coronary heart disease, had a heart attack, suffer with angina, have had a stroke or who are known to have vascular disease and reducing the risk of further episodes. This is run by nurse Janice Pryce.

Diabetes - by appointment only

All diabetics can better manage their condition with the aid of regular review with a specialist nurse. Review intervals will vary between a few weeks to 12 months, depending on clinical need. Blood tests, chiropody and dietary advice are provided by nurses trained in this area. We would encourage anyone with diabetes to take advantage of this service in the management of their condition. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (CoPD) - by appointment only

To monitor the effects of treatment for those diagnosed with COPD.

Anti-coagulant Clinic - by appointment only

To check and monitor INR and adjust doses of warfarin.

Cryotherapy - by referral and appointment only

Used for the treatment of warts, verrucas and skin tags etc.

Minor Surgery - by referral and appointment only

We perform joint injections and various minor operations under local anaesthetic.

Physiotherapy - by referral and appointment only

Sessions are held at the practice by a physiotherapist.

Travel Vaccinations - by appointment only

We offer full travel immunisation and NHS advice by appointment with a practice nurse and our worldwide travel health bulletins are regularly updated. As well as a full range of travel immunisations (including yellow fever), we can provide malaria tablets, mosquito nets, sterile medical packs and water purifiers at competitive prices.

Please note: Vaccinations can take up to a month before they are effective - plan ahead!
